No matter the weather, we can’t pass up ice cream. From traditional flavours like chocolate and vanilla, to more interesting ones like banoffee ice cream (which is delicious!), ice cream really is a treat that brings a smile to our face.
So we thought we’d showcase 10 of the best ice cream producers in Devon, so you know where to get your sweet-tooth fix. We asked our social media following for some suggestions, and here are their recommendations.
Taverners Farm, Exeter
Set in a renovated courtyard, the parlour has seating for 60 customers either around traditional farm house tables or outside on benches in the court yard.
Their cornets can be bought in a number of sizes and types from plain, small kids, single waffle, double waffle, chocolate dipped or sweet sprinkled. Toppings include clotted cream, smarties, chocolate, brownies and flake.
Otter Valley Dairy, Honiton
Otter Valley is a family business that has seen three generations working together to create award-winning ice cream, from cow to cone.

Beanice Ice Cream, Newton Abbott
Beanice Ice Cream is a family run business, based in Newton Abbot and pride themselves on their personal service, seven day delivery during the summer period and a reputation for reacting to their customer’s needs.

Langage Farm, Plymouth
Langage Farm moved from the original farm in Langage, Plympton to pastures news just across the fields to their new farm in Smithaleigh in 2003.
Today, the company employs around 50 people and has over 250 special Jersey and Guernsey cows. Together, they produce the most wonderful cream, ice creams, yoghurts, spreads, dips, cream cheese…. and many more!

Hockings Dairy Cream Ices is a small, long established family business which manufacture and retail their own original vanilla dairy ice cream from an old recipe handed down from previous generations. The ice cream is only sold from their own vans found throughout North Devon.
