Cornwall is renowned for its fresh produce and local ales, so it’s not surprising there are so many great places to eat out in the area. Whether you’re on holiday in Cornwall or you live here, with all those bar and restaurant options, it can be difficult to know where to start! If you’re ever looking for somewhere to eat in Launceston or the heart of Cornwall, we would highly recommend the Restaurant at Trethorne Hotel & Golf Club. It’s situated just three miles outside Launceston, and minutes off the the main A30 route into Cornwall, so it’s easy to get to from both Cornwall and Devon.
Not just a golf club
Whilst Trethorne happens to have an 18-hole parkland golf course, you don’t need to play golf to eat there. The family hotel, bar and restaurant is an ideal place for couples, families and groups of all sizes who like good food and friendly hospitality at any time of the day!
Proper grub, all day
On the menu are all day breakfasts, sandwiches, omelettes, and good old-fashioned bar snacks – plus vegetarian options and a kids menu – so there’s something for everyone. They serve food from early til late, seven days a week, so you can eat there at whatever time suits you. And they source their ingredients locally – try the traditional fish & chips with batter made from local Korev beer! They also do a mean Sunday Carvery with meats from Philip Warren’s Butchers in Launceston and local seasonal vegetables.
Peaceful setting
The restaurant overlooks the green and rolling countryside beyond. There are also tables outside and a children’s play area, so it’s a great place to take the kids for lunch or dinner on a nice day, or eat al fresco just the two of you.
