Devon Fire & Spice Festival, Powderham Castle, Saturday 18th of August to Sunday 19th of August, 10am-5pm
Set at the stunning Powderham Castle just south of Exeter, this fiery festival combines a hot chilli festival with barbecue demonstrations and competitions, plus a chilli cook-off competition, great music, hot spicy food and non-hot stuff too such as charcuterie, artisan breads, local cheeses, jams, sauces and spice kits.
Add to this beers and cider, a chilli-eating competition, bouncy castles, talks and cooking demonstrations, great people, good times.

Cathedral Bake Off, Exeter Cathedral, Tuesday 28th of August, 10:30am-12:30pm
Today’s baking is for those looking for a challenge. In true Bake Off style, today’s session sees you and your partner work your way through a blind challenge recipe. Once the bakes are completed, you will present them for judging. We get to taste the bakes and take the rest home for scoffing!

A Sardinian Feast, The Riverford Field Kitchen, Friday 31st August 7pm-10pm
Join us for a one-off Sardinian inspired feast with guest chef & author Letitia Clark. Using produce straight from the Riverford farm and pasta, olive oil and cheeses from Italy, you will enjoy a wonderful summer feast of Italian influenced dishes with veg at the heart of every plate. A wonderful set menu to share with friends and family – the Italian way.
In between professional kitchens, Letitia has cooked on a goat farm in Israel, hosted pop-ups and had a stall selling her food at Druid Street Market in London. Letitia currently lives in Sardinia and her food is a wonderful reflection of her English heritage with a Sardinian twist.

Alfie’s Night Out, Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Queen Street, Exeter, all throughout August
Children’s book illustrator Victoria Byron has created a new book especially for RAMM’s 150th anniversary. Alfie is a sparrow who sits amongst the other birds in the gallery. One night, when the visitors have all left, something magical happens: the museum comes alive and Alfie goes exploring.
Victoria has created colourful illustrations of some of the museum’s well known objects, as well as a few that aren’t always spotted by visitors. The book takes children on a wonderful tour of RAMM.
