New Devon-based hamper company Letter Box Hamper is expanding and now looking to move to larger premises to accommodate growing order volumes and increased product lines, after a strong first 12 months of trading. The company is currently based at the Quayside in Exeter, close to the new Exeter Cookery School, in an exciting new area of regeneration for the city.
The company has now launched 3 new hampers to include high quality, luxury independent produce from other regions, including a 10 year old Single Malt Whisky, Scottish Heather Honey and William’s Chase vodka, as a result of customer demand to include suppliers from across the UK.
Although Letter Box Hamper is now looking to expand and increase the variety of suppliers, it’s still focused on remaining based in the South West and maintaining strong relationships with all the suppliers who supported the business in the early days. Indeed, early suppliers were inspirational in demonstrating how lovingly produced and beautifully packaged South West food and drink is in demand and aspirational both across the UK and internationally. Tregothnan Tea, Willie’s Cacao and Plymouth Gin are all fantastic tasting and incredibly popular products and these local producers will continue to feature in one the most popular hampers – the ‘Best of British’ Letter Box Hamper.
Demand for the company’s innovative postable hamper service was boosted in March this year, by the launch of the UK’s first ever postable Cheese and Biscuits hamper. Delivered through the Letter Box, it caught the imagination of cheese lovers across the country, who delight in sending their fromage-loving friends and family a perfect surprise on special occasions. The hamper features Welsh Caws Cryf Cheese, crackers from the Fine Cheese Co. in Bath, Dorset based Moore’s Biscuits and chutney from the Tiny Marmalade Company in Devon.
In addition to bringing out newly curated hampers, the company has also invested in a brand-new website. The website now allows customers to pick and choose produce to design and create their own Letter Box Hamper, as well as choosing the colour of the wrapping paper, writing a personal card and choosing a preferred delivery date. This option is proving particularly popular for business customers, who like to be able to quickly and easily send fully personalised ‘Thank You’ gifts of luxury produce, without the expense of ordering and sending personalised gifts themselves.
With the hard job of tasting and sampling produce for this year’s Christmas hamper already well underway, the most popular other occasion for sending a hamper is birthdays. Customers report that they love the ease and simplicity of delivery, as well as the value for money and presentation of the hampers, which are each hand wrapped in parcel paper, twine and real stamps.
