A local digital marketing agency will be hosting a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning at their office on the Devon / Cornwall border on Friday 29th September in aid of leading cancer charity Macmillan.
Invites are being extended to anyone who would like to join them for some homemade cake and tea or coffee. They hope to raise as much money as possible in order to help them beat last year’s total of £29.5 million.
Mark Worden, Director, said ‘planning is well under way for this event and we hope it will be a great success. We have support from the keen bakers amongst us, including colleagues and family, who have pledged to donate homemade and delicious treats. We have also been advertising at our local village hall and via our social media accounts and website. Anyone is welcome to come along, the more the merrier!’
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. Each year they ask people all over the UK to host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. Since its inception back in 1990, Coffee Mornings have raised over £165.5 million.
Macmillan’s Chief Executive, Ciarán Devane said: “Every penny raised at a coffee morning will help fund more services for people affected by cancer. Your involvement – no matter how small – means there will be enough practical, medical, financial and emotional support to help to change the lives of everyone affected by cancer for the better. And for that, we think you should feel good!”
Mark added ‘We are delighted to be able to support this worthy cause and aim to raise as much as we can for Macmillan. It is a cause close to many of our hearts here at MiHi and we are pleased to be able to support their fundraising efforts.
