If you like your coffee with a side of fur ball then start getting excited, because a cat café may be on its way to Devon’s capital city.
The trend of cat cafés (that’s cafés that have cats in them, not cafés for cats) has been spreading across the nation, and cities such as London, Manchester, and Nottingham have jumped on the bandwagon.
The couple hoping to open the first cat café, called Coffee and Tails, have over 14 years of coffee shop experience between them, and they wanted to merge their job with their love of animals. Amy Carledge and fiancé Iain Mair are hoping to secure £25,000 of funding through crowdfunding.
Amy, 21, says: “We aim to provide a tranquil environment for our customers to enjoy quality coffee, locally sourced food, and a good book. All in the company of 10-15 resident cats.”
The couple have said that the cats will be from rescue centres, and the café will offer a menu filled with variety.
They also plan to offer a range of activities at the café, including movie nights, yoga, and family classes.
