All you need to do is travel to Barnstaple and your childhood dreams of becoming a real-life mermaid can come true. Run by Mermaids UK (yes, that’s a thing), the two-hour sessions are open to everyone regardless of age and gender.
The session will be led by qualified Mermaid Instructors (how do I become one?!) who will teach wannabe mermaids and mermen basic movements, skills, safety, and poses…what’s not to like?
Whilst the colourful and sparkly tails are very appealing, you must be at least 6 years of age and be able to do a number of things, including comfortably swimming 25 metres and demonstrate a basic dolphin kick for 5 metres (okay that’s me out).
The company will be running sessions at West Buckland School Pool, and they offer birthday, hen, and stag parties…nothing says “Happy birthday!” like pretending to be a mythical creature.
