1. Putsborough Sands
When you think of North Devon beaches, you probably get names pop into your head like Woolacombe, Croyde, and Saunton Sands. Now you’ll think of Putsborough Sands. Voted the best beach in the UK in 2015 and 2016 by Trip Advisor, this beach stretches three miles. The clean water and crisp waves make it the perfect spot for surfers and swimmers all year round – just make sure you’re wearing a thick wetsuit in the winter months!

2. Fatbelly Fred’s
Tucked away in Barnstaple, this foodie heaven sources local and sustainable produce and serves them in a range of dishes. 3. Unique Boutique
Treat yourself in Great Torrington at the wonderful Unique Boutique. The independent store has recently moved premises, and are dedicated to countering retail waste in the fashion industry. Pre-loved items hang from rails, including some fabulous designer items (we’re talking Prada, Missoni, Dolce & Gabanna…). This quaint and beautiful shop gives you the perfect chance to revamp your wardrobe or pick up a fabulous outfit for that special event.

4. South Molton Jazz Club
After a day of shopping and surfing, and a delicious meal, get yourself to The Jazz Club for some wonderful live performances. Opening at the end of October, this brand new club aims to provide a venue for quality jazz created by properly supported and paid musicians; a rare thing in North Devon. The house band, Retry Rhythm Rascals will play regularly and are a jazz quintet influenced by the music and styles of the 20s, 30s, and 40s.
