In every town you’ll find at least one shop filled with unique items, carefully and lovingly made by locals. From candles and soaps, to jewellery and hats, there’s plenty of beautiful things to buy in Devon! Here are just a few of the county’s top crafters, as suggested by our social media followers.

Based in South Devon is Lonely Cove Jewellery, run by Marianne Renton. Living close to the coast allows Marianne to frequently visit nearby beaches, and she collects sea glass which is then transformed into coastal inspired jewellery.

Since the age of 16, Rachel Dunn has been creating spectacular head pieces and bags for all occasions. Whether you’re looking for a special hat for a wedding, or something for a day at the races, you’re sure to find something amongst Rachel’s bespoke designs.
Having grown up in Devon, Claudia’s beautiful scarves are largely inspired by the glorious countryside. All of the fashionable scarves are made in the UK, and the digitally printed creations are finished individually by hand.

Okay so this isn’t just one maker, but with so many wonderful pieces we just couldn’t choose! Devon Furniture Makers provide workshops throughout the county, and there’s plenty of opportunity for unique items.
John Arbon Textiles
Once you try a pair of John Arbon socks, you won’t be able to wear any others! This small family-run business in North Devon uses traditional methods to create socks, accessories, and yarn. You can even buy a pattern to make your own socks!
Everyone loves a bit of sparkle, and Helen Brice’s jewellery designs have been making waves across the country. Precious and semi-precious gemstones are matched with warm, natural metals to create some truly unique and stunning pieces.
Devon Soap Company
Soap has been used for centuries, and now Devon Soap are creating some of the most wonderful we’ve ever tried! Free from parabens and other nasties, the soaps, bath bombs, and more are all vegan friendly. Hooray!
Beespoke of Devon
Since 2014 Jo, a former teacher, has had the candle-making bug and now has a whole range of fabulous products which are made in Devon. Relax with an aromatherapy candle, or treat yourself to one of the Devon beeswax candles.
Grace & Favour Home
For the past 6 years, a textile and homewares company near Dartmoor has been producing some fabulous, unique items. From faded postcards to patterns inspired by playing cards, if quirky is your thing, this is the shop for you.
Be prepared to step into a world of whimsy and magic, as Jenny Ayrton captures miniature wonderlands in molten glass. Hot air balloons and playgrounds sit in the glass, as Jenny takes inspiration from her surroundings and two young children.
