Lose yourself in a world of Cornish flora, fauna and folklore with Squashbox Theatre’s Skillywidden, at this family fun weekend in January. This fantastic performance celebrates the wildlife and faerie myths of Cornwall with crazy characters, silly slapstick, puppets, songs and storytelling. Popular wedding venue Launcells Barton will be hosting an Open Day event on the 28th January 2018. By appointment only, guests will be given a private viewing of the venue and grounds, as well as being able to meet with a hand-picked selection of some of the finest local suppliers. Vivaldi by Candlelight, Hall for Cornwall, Truro, 15th January
Britain’s best-loved classical touring ensemble present a musical tribute to the great Venetian composer, Antonio Vivaldi. Attired in lavish period costume, performing in front of a stunning classical set, these charismatic musicians perform Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, a composition which depicts 17th century Italian rural life in a wonderfully inventive manner. Other works include the virtuoso Concerto for Two Violins, the Rustic Symphony and classics such as Pachelbel’s Canon and Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba. Step back for a while into the elegance and grace of the Baroque, whilst listening to harmonies of this great melodic genius weaving his magical spell.
