Enjoying a tipple over the festive period? The team at a well-known brewery in Cornwall certainly will be, as one of their ales has recently been crowned one of the world’s top 100 drinks.
Doom Bar, produced by Sharps Brewery in Rock, has been positioned at number 70 in the The Morning Advertiser’s ‘The Drinks List: Top 100 Brands’.
The magazine, which prints purely pub-related news, reveals its list just before Christmas each year. This year’s list features a whole host of beverages, from well-known rums and vodkas to local and independent ales, wine and gins, there are all-kinds of drinks from around the world.
Representing Cornwall at number 70 is Sharps Brewery’s Doom Bar. According to The Morning Advertiser, Sharps has seen a 4.3% increase in sales for its award-winning cask ale, which has fast become the nation’s favourite. Over the next three years, the company will be improving its brewing infrastructure to keep up with increasing demand.
