Sams on the Beach, Porthmeor
You cannot help but be swept up into the warm and friendly ambiance that has been lovingly created at Sam’s on the Beach. This once RNLI lifeboat station began as old boat house and slip way all of 150 years ago and although they don’t do anything as dramatic as save lives anymore, they can certainly still put smiles on people’s faces with Sam’s tried and tested formula of great food, great staff and great atmosphere. With its custom-built wood burning pizza oven churning out artisan slices of heaven, combined with the traditionally exceptional seafood that has become so familiar at Sam’s, The Beach is truly a Combers’ paradise.

Porthmeor Beach Café, Porthmeor
Located in St Ives just below the Tate, Porthmeor Beach Café is a truly magical place. With a buzzing atmosphere, alfresco dining and imaginative cocktails they serve breakfast, lunch and tapas through to evening dining. Their friendly staff will greet you with a choice of inside, on the terrace, or tucked away in their cosy heated booths. Driftwood are open for dinner on every evening and and offer private lunches for a minimum of six persons. During the day, the hut serves a small menu of simple freshly-made refreshments. No need to book, just turn up and order. All items can be packed to takeaway onto the beach. No deep-fat fryers, just a simple outdoor stove and indoor bakery oven. The menu is always sourced from the best pick of local ingredients and made fresh each morning by their chefs. They also run feast nights which, like a big family picnic, you bring the plates, cutlery and wine, they provide the food and fire. It’s all outdoors so you’ll need to dress for the weather – we go ahead whatever the forecast says!
