Devon and Cornwall have become real foodie spots over the past few years and despite producing amazing food for centuries, we’re perhaps only now getting the national and international recognition our culinary delights deserve. Tucked away in Mccoys Arcade on Fore Street is Camper Coffee Co., a unique and small shop with a surprising amount of seating and fantastic locally roasted coffee. As well as caffine, they serve delicious pies and other snacks.
The Coffee Cabin – Appledore
If you’re a fan of cake, then this is the place for you. From classic Victoria sponges to chocolate and Guinness cake, as well as other savoury treats such as quiches, sandwiches, and divine breakfasts. It’s also family friendly!
Tangerine Tree – Totnes
Totnes is filled with fantastic independents, and Tangerine Tree really stands out as one of the best. Right in the heart of the town, this family friendly café has a comfortable atmosphere and serves tasty cakes and great value dishes.
Amigos Coffee – Plymouth
Open 6 days a week, this ‘must visit’ coffee shop in Plymouth has a great relaxed atmosphere, and they pride themselves on serving the very best speciality coffees and teas in the area. If you don’t have time to sit down, you can take your drink and snacks to go.
Millie & Me – Brixham
The unmissable pink chairs and cute flower pots of Millie & Me let you know that this quirky spot is the place to be for sweet treats. Their home made cakes and FatRoc coffee is accompanied by regular events such as book club and crochet club.
Fat Lemons – Totnes
Fat Lemons is the ideal spot for vegans, vegetarians, and those with gluten free diets. Their Italian coffees are great with homemade treats, and they also offer soya, almond, and lactofree milks. This is perfect for anyone with dietary requirements!
Osbourne’s Coffee and Wine Bar – Beer
By day this unique spot is a cosy coffee shop, and by night it is a popular wine bar serving some of the best tapas in town. Their popular pastries and cakes are accompanied by smooth and awakening coffee, perfect!
The Glorious Art House – Exeter
Known for being one of the most artistic and eccentric coffee houses in town, The Glorious regularly display art and serve up plenty of tasty treats (try the waffles, you won’t regret it). A firm favourite with locals, this coffee house is hard to miss.
Exe Coffee Roasters – Exeter
This is where you’ll find the hard-core coffee fans of Exeter. Exe Coffee Roasters source high grade speciality classed green coffees and carefully roast them to bring out all the flavour. There are different coffees all year round, so you can try something different each time.
Artigiano – Exeter
With beans picked by hand, and flavours enhanced with the seasons, Artigiano is great for a classic cup of joe. Treat yourself to a tray bake, cake, muffin, or brownie on the side whilst you’re at it. There are also plenty of savoury snacks available too!
