There are so many wonderful things about going out for brunch. Usually most popular over the weekend, you can enjoy an alcoholic beverage with your meal and not feel guilty, it’s a massive time saver as you are combining two meals and there’s so much variety, from sausages to nacho’s! We’ve rounded up 10 top places to enjoy brunch throughout Cornwall, thanks to suggestions from our social media following. Have we forgotten any? Let us know in the comments.
The Carpenters Arms, Metherell
On the first Saturday of each month The Carpenters Arms run their brunch and produce market, celebrating local food and drink from the Tamar Valley. You can try and buy homemade sausages, fresh artisan bread, Cornish apple juice and much more – everything is freshly prepared. We particularly like the sound of the eggs benedict with homemade hollandaise sauce or chunky American pancakes!

All of their ingredients come from the freshest and finest produce, sourced locally where possible. They are renowned for their ‘build your own breakfast’ which is served from 9 – 11, so can be classed as ‘brunch’! Twisted Currant Tea Room, Porthleven
Here you’ll find a varied choice of specials each day changing according to the season. They always have a vegetarian/vegan choice and for gluten and dairy intolerant customers they also make as much as possible gluten and dairy free. We really like the sound of their ‘posh toast’ – a toasted bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon or bacon or avocado on toast with poached eggs!

Box and Barber are an Artisan coffeehouse & kitchen, plus social hub. Although Newquay has many coffee houses, this one really sticks out. Waves Bar, Seaton
Where better to have brunch than by the sea! Waves Bar are right on the seafront at Seaton and only a narrow road separates them from the beach – it’s pretty spectacular when the Surf’s up! Lighter snacks, cakes and other ‘nibbles’ are available from the bar throughout the day. Their brioche sandwiches sound amazing!

The Beach Hut, Watergate Bay
Rarely quiet, it’s a vibrant place where the buzz of conversation rivals the sound of the sea. The view pours in, there’s sand on the floor, and you can walk in right off the beach and ask for a table. The main space has large sea-facing windows and there are cosy corner snugs with large banquettes. On the deck, you can relax with a coffee or a drink among the hustle of beach life.
