Away from the beautiful beaches and magnificent moors, Devon has quite a bustling nightlife. All over the county there are a myriad of bars and pubs that are filled with people socialising at the weekend. So we asked our social media following for their favourite bars in Devon, and we picked our top ten!

Tigermilk at The Duke, Plymouth

Claytons & The Glasshouse, Barnstaple
In their lounge bar downstairs, Claytons offer regulars and new customers alike the chance to relax in their comfy chairs and enjoy a cocktail – or two!
Their drinks menu is packed with a huge range of exciting cocktails, an extensive list of carefully constructed ‘gin experiences’ and a comprehensive bevy of beers, ales and spirits – including a number of local products.
Bread and Roses, Plymouth
The Bread and Roses is Plymouth’s only social enterprise pub. They operate as a community focused hub and arts space for everyone to use, with a cafe & free Wi-Fi during the day followed by progressive live musicians and events in the evening. Bronx Bar & ‘Cue, Teignmouth
The Bronx takes its inspiration from New York’s BBQ Scene that returns to an era of good honest, not to mention flavoursome, home cooked American food where drinks and food are served with modern-day finesse in a decidedly old-school environment.
The bartenders at the Bronx will be serving up cocktails inspired by old saloons alongside the classics. They have a fantastic array of craft beers from both the US & the UK and a small boutique wine list so drinks to suit all tastes.
Soho Cocktail Bar, Torquay
Bringing a mouth watering, champagne bubble inducing taste of city life to the bay is this fabulous welcoming Lounge and Cocktail Bar in the heart of Torquay, ‘SOHO BAR’. Situated in the old Devon and Cornwall Bank at Number 1 Palk Street, the building has been transformed into a slick, classy venue with some really clever up market touches and aesthetic architectural 21st century lighting. The best part however? It’s a chic and it’s Premium without sky high prices.

Doctor Ink’s Curiosities, Exeter
This Victorian-inspired cocktail bar offers a variety of ‘intoxicating libations of excellence.’ They’ve won a shed load of awards, so we’re really keen to check out Doctor Ink’s!
Cosy Club, Exeter
Entering Exeter Cosy Club through what was the hospital’s chapel entrance you arrive into a theatrical space. With high ceilings and striking ‘institutional’ features in addition to the wonderful ambience, there’s a variety of different drinks to choose from. Perfect for an evening tipple.
The Oddfellows, Exeter
Oddfellows have taken time to choose their Wine and beers. They have an awesome craft beer list, and are Cask Marque accredited for their Local ales. They are also in The Good Beer Guide, great local draught lagers’ and a cracking wine list! Their cocktails are pretty good too.
